How Does the Generator Installation Process Work?

Making the decision to invest in a residential or commercial standby generator for your home or business is exciting. Having a standby generator on your property means that you’ll have an automatic source of power in the event of an outage, providing both comfort and protection when there’s a blackout.

If you’re ready to move forward with generator installation, you may have a few questions about how the generator installation process works. Here’s what you can expect the process to look like when you choose Generator Technologies Inc.—

Job Site Pre-Evaluation

The first thing that we’ll do is conduct a job site pre-evaluation. During this time, we will assess where the generator will be placed, whether or not your electrical system is compatible with the generator and if not, what upgrades need to occur, and anything else we need to know to safely install the system. If you haven’t selected a generator yet, we can also use this visit to inform which generator model might be right for you. (The right size of generator is based on your energy usage and your expected electricity needs in the event of a blackout.)

Unit Placement

The next thing that we’ll do is handle the placement of the unit. If you have an existing generator, we can remove and dispose of your old system as part of this service. This service includes all system hardware, including wiring, piping, grounding rod, gravel, etc., all labor, and all materials.

System Set-Up

Once we’ve placed the unit, we’ll set it up. Our professionals have years of experience working on all makes of models on the market. We are confident that we’ll be able to get your system up and running in no time.

Testing & Verification

Once your system is installed, we’ll handle system testing and verification to make sure everything is working smoothly. We’ll also guide you through system monitoring and maintenance.

Clean Up

We strive to always leave our worksites clean and looking great. You can count on us for a great clean-up job post-installation.
